A spooky engineering challenge for the school's-out day. Campers design, build and program motorised Halloween creatures — the kind that lurch, snap and light up when you walk past.

They build

A motorised mechanical creature with a moving jaw or limbs.

They code

Sensor triggers — it wakes up when something comes near.

They explore

Cams and linkages: turning a spin into a lurch.
